I have no comment on how long it’s been since I’ve contributed… so let’s get to this mulled apple cider! Not only is mulling cider easy, it also makes your home smell amazing and it’s just cozy. Add a little whiskey to your cup and voila, party cider.
Hi! Remember me? Hope so, because I’ve been thinking about you a lot! And how I should finally share these flapjacks with you. A few months ago, I started having Graze boxes delivered to my office every couple of weeks. They’re adorable boxes of four individually portioned healthy snacks that you can pick/choose/rate on their website. It’s like a ray of delicious sunshine when they arrive. One of my favorite items to receive in my boxes are the flapjacks. They’re like mini soft granola bars… but better.
Crazy things happen when I bake/cook in a real person kitchen. This meaning the kitchen of my parents or anyone who owns a full set of knives and a set of glasses that don’t disperse glitter and small plastic dreidels when shaken (I love those cups, BTW). Making these donuts was wonderful because 1) I just got my pan in the mail!!, 2) I could actually follow the directions and brush butter on them with my parents’ sweet rubber brush contraption instead of clumsily smearing it on with my fingers, and 3) I was making said donuts while my brother and dad watched a Neil Young concert on Netflix, so Neil was playing in the background, I was feeling the feelings he makes you feel (just hand me a Pulitzer and get it over with), and the smell of donut-y goodness was in the air!
On top of all of that, they tasted wonderful AND are gluten and dairy-free!
This is the perfect solution to the my-entire-fruit-bowl-is-full-of-mealy-apples dilemma. When life gives you mealy apples, make applesauce! What does that word mean, anyway? MEAL-y. How many times can I use the word ‘mealy’ in this paragraph?
You know when you’re making a recipe using a flour that you’ve never really used before and you’re convinced that once you put the cookies in the oven, they’re going to spread into one giant disaster-cookie? So you get really cranky and annoyed but then they end up turning out totally normal and prove that brown rice flour may not be as scary as you thought? No? Oh.
Well on that note, these are gluten and (almost- if it weren’t for the cinnamon chips) dairy free, but you’d never know! I’ve wanted to try Hershey’s Cinnamon Baking Chips for quite some time, and we finally found each other! The touch of cinnamon in these is perfect for the holiday season.
