Just in time for Valentine’s Day, here we have my great grandmother Helen’s (who I happened to be named after) butter cookie recipe. The original is written on the side of a pantyhose box. Scandalous. Good luck to you in deciphering what exactly a “regular water glass” is! There’s a translation of sorts attached to the recipe that someone created somewhere along the line, which was very helpful in getting the proportions right, as well as not ending up with 150 cookies.
For the glaze, I headed on over to the Kitchn and used their simple glaze recipe!
